Do I Really Need Training

To Be A Professional Voiceover Talent?

In short:

The obvious answer is that in today's world of voiceover, anyone can plug a mic into their computer and try to find someone to pay them to use their voice. That means you have stiff competition against trained pros who have taken the time to learn what clients (good paying clients, anyway) want. They've studied and continue to study with their coach. They've learned how to interpret and deliver scripts.

They've learned mic technique and how to avoid plosives and sibilance. They've learned how to market themselves, submit their demos to agencies, and network within the community. They've invested into their equipment so their sound quality meets industry standards, and they've spent time learning how to edit their audio (did you know that you also have to learn to be your own sound engineer?)

What many people don't realize about becoming a voiceover talent, is that you're actually becoming a business owner. And what you put in, is what you'll get out!

Most start up businesses cost tens of thousands (if not hundreds of thousands) to begin. When I bought my first retail store, I used my college fund and got a loan for about $100,000. And that doesn't include all the business training I purchased online (and still purchase) to stay on top.

If you want to become a nurse, it'll run you anywhere from $12,800 to $37,200. If you want to attend one of the top beauty schools in pursuit of becoming a cosmetologist, it'll set you back $10,000-$20,000.

Starting my voiceover business cost well under $5,000. It requires extremely little capital to begin- especially compared to other ventures! If you treat your passion like a hobby, it will always be just something you do for fun. You have to sacrifice, invest, work hard, and never stop learning!

Are you willing to give it what it takes to make your dreams become reality? Do you want to stop wondering, "What if?" and start pursuing your passion?

We'd love to help you launch your voice over start up if you're new to the game or we'd love to help you grow your existing voice over business and achieve your goals!
